This is why one must yell, "Product placement!!" with the same enthusiasm as a car full of high schoolers squealing, "Punch bug!!" whenever a perfectly positioned brand shot flashes across the screen.
PS - I want to go into the movie somewhat blind (I haven’t seen the trailer) but I’ll be back to read this definitive review in full once I’ve watched 🫡
"... None of it needs to function as proof of anything. It's not a verdict of your own worth, just a choice you get to make..." As someone in their late 20s and beginning that stage in life where engagements are popping up all around me, I am obsessed and need this written on my wall.
It's such a silly take! I get not wanting to date someone totally broke and unmotivated to change that (all of the reasons I mentioned in the piece). But this deep cynicism and generally ambient nihilism about *everything* is not it!

You will be so much happier for it!
read it and was relieved that there are people who are not thinking about it as a “poor man propaganda”
had a lot of similar thoughts on this movie

I knew it!
“Even if the final fight over eating at a good restaurant for their anniversary takes place in Times Square, where there are no such restaurants.”
Ok, I’ve liked both of your pieces now that I have read.
But the above pushed me over the line and got me to subscribe..
